What To Expect

EMDR

I am trained in EMDR therapy levels one and two. It is a proven method to help people recover from trauma, and other life distressing experiences such as PTSD anxiety, panic disorders and depression. This treatment approach works by reconnecting the traumatized person to the images and body sensations associated with the trauma in a safe and secure way. This results in the brain resuming it’s natural healing process, and drastically reducing symptoms.

New Clients/Zoom Clients

Due to COIVD-19, I am currently offering both in person and zoom sessions. This will be dependent on your comfort level and location. These sessions are the same length as in person sessions.

Practice Methods

My practice focuses on a holistic, person-centered approach toward building emotional strength and wellbeing. I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at the University of New Hampshire, and then my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Antioch University New England. I have been a yoga and mindfulness teacher since 2008, and received my first yoga certification in the prior year.

Throughout my 7 years of counseling, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults. I understand and embrace that no single approach is effective for every individual. I use several therapeutic modalities including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization, and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy.
